Peterson to Serve as President & CEO

The Board of the Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce has asked long-serving Chamber staff member Deidre Peterson to be its next President & CEO. Peterson has served the organization for eleven years, currently as VP of Business Development.

During her time at the Chamber, she has been responsible for incentivizing event participation, revamping the Ambassador committee, sunsetting the auction, and spearheading in house policies and procedures. Well known in statewide and national associations, Peterson has received accolades for working tirelessly behind the scenes and for her laser-like focus.

While one of her primary responsibilities is events, her incredible work ethic has been paramount in transforming the Chamber to one focusing mainly on events, to one that is truly a catalyst for business growth, a convener of leaders and influencers, and a champion of the community.

“It is my privilege to accept this role and I’m grateful the board has entrusted me to lead the organization forward,” Peterson says. “Working with our members over the past decade has been an incredible joy, supporting small businesses, legacy industries, and our community as a whole. I hope to build on the strong reputation the Chamber has earned as we begin this next chapter.”

Peterson will formally begin acting as CEO on Monday, September 26, as Heidi McCutcheon departs for the Thurston EDC. More information will be released as it becomes available.
