Just announced, the Port of Shelton and Olympic Mountain Ice Cream have submitted an application for a Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) loan to fund the renovation project. This strategic partnership signals a shared commitment to fostering economic development and supporting small businesses in the region.
The news was made official when the Port of Shelton Commission passed a resolution on March 6 approving a $1.75 million CERB loan for the project. This funding injection is poised to breathe new life into the proposed expansion, providing Olympic Mountain Ice Cream with the resources needed to realize their vision.
The Port of Shelton’s involvement underscores its commitment to driving economic growth and revitalizing local infrastructure. By leveraging the CERB loan to repurpose a Port building for commercial use, the project aligns with the Port’s broader mission of fostering a thriving business environment in the region.

The new space will be four times larger than Olympic Mountain Ice Cream’s current location. Not to mention that the Port Property does not suffer from flooding and power outages like the valley.
All said, the building is poised to become the new hub for Olympic Mountain Ice Cream, providing expanded production facilities, a retail storefront, and enhanced amenities.
