Meet LuWana Hawley: Chamber Ambassador

Published on

When LuWana Hawley was invited to join the Chamber’s Ambassador Committee in March 2022, she was both new to the area and to her role as General Manager at Lucky Dog Casino. Having recently relocated from Tumwater to Hoodsport, she was eager to connect with others and establish a sense of belonging. Joining the Ambassador Committee offered the perfect opportunity to immerse herself in the community while learning more about the people and businesses that make Mason County thrive.

LuWana says becoming an Ambassador felt like a natural next step. With experience as both a business owner and a leader in a Tribal Enterprise, she understands the challenges and rewards of running a business. She enjoys supporting others in their efforts and finds value in the shared conversations that happen along the way. Whether discussing goals, obstacles, or successes, she appreciates how every interaction helps strengthen the community’s network of support.

Attending ribbon cutting ceremonies is one of the experiences LuWana enjoys most. She finds them inspiring, moments that celebrate vision, perseverance, and the hard work it takes to bring a dream to life. Each new business tells a story, and being present for those milestones reminds her of the resilience that defines Mason County’s business community. Through her service, she’s also discovered the area’s many hidden gems. Though she grew up just over an hour away, she admits she hadn’t truly explored beyond the familiar stretches of Highway 101. Serving as an Ambassador has opened her eyes to the full beauty and uniqueness of the region she now calls home.

LuWana supports local businesses in ways both simple and meaningful. She shops locally, dines at area restaurants, and attends community events, believing that everyday engagement has a lasting impact. She also shares her positive experiences and recommendations with friends, family, and others in her network, extending the reach of Mason County’s small businesses.

For LuWana, being an Ambassador is about more than professional connection; it is about community. She takes pride in seeing local businesses succeed and feels grateful to play a part in that success. If you are a new member or looking to get more involved, LuWana is always happy to connect, answer questions, and help you get connected within the Chamber community.
