Cameo Boutique Finds a Fresh Look at Union Square
After more than four decades in the same location, Cameo Boutique has opened a new chapter. The longtime Union shop, known for its friendly service and thoughtful selection of gifts, home décor, and women’s apparel, has relocated just a minute away to Union Square. The new space offers a brighter, refreshed look while keeping the heart of the boutique the same.
Owner Pam Hanson says the move has brought new energy. “What excites me most about the new space is the fresh new look,” she said. “We still have the same wonderful merchandise, but with the brighter color on the walls and new lighting you see things in a different way. Comments from our loyal customers have been very positive and encouraging.”
Cameo continues to offer jewelry, apparel, resort wear, home décor, cards, books from local authors, baby gifts, gourmet treats, and seasonal merchandise. Jewelry and apparel remain top sellers, and customers often return for Cameo’s soft peanut brittle and chocolate truffles. This season marked the boutique’s 42nd Holiday Open House, and Pam was grateful for the warm response at the new location.
Pam enjoys following retail trends and works several months ahead when placing orders. “Retail is constantly evolving,” she said. “You have to be prepared to make important decisions and hope that you are right.” She hopes the new location allows Cameo to inspire long-time shoppers while also welcoming new visitors.
Creating a warm experience is central to the shop. “I hope everyone coming into Cameo Boutique feels welcomed with a hearty good morning or afternoon,” Pam shared. “We want our customers to feel like we truly are here to help them.” She says the most rewarding part of running the business is building relationships and getting to know customers over the years.
Pam also credits her team. “I have been so blessed with having a supportive team that I call family,” she said. “Ed, Linda, Kerry, and Sandy are such a big part of the Cameo Boutique success. I could not do it without them.” She adds that neighboring businesses at Union Square have been very welcoming, and she looks forward to collaborating on holiday events.
Even as Mason County grows, Pam still values the small-town spirit. “I think we all want to help each other succeed,” she said. Supporting small local shops remains important to her. “Shopping local keeps needed dollars in our community. Supporting our small businesses helps our county grow, and being part of local events and Chambers is something I’m proud of.”
To celebrate the relocation, the Shelton-Mason County Chamber will host a ribbon cutting together with the North Mason Chamber on Tuesday, December 2, at 3:00 pm. The community is invited to stop in, explore the refreshed space, and enjoy Cameo Boutique’s holiday displays.
