CHAMBER AMBASSADOR: Meet Billy Thomas.
Billy Thomas has been an active member of the Mason County community since he arrived in 2018, quickly becoming an integral part of the local community. A chance meeting with Chamber leaders while photographing holiday decorations downtown sparked his involvement with the Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce This connection eventually led to his role as Marketing Director at Peninsula Credit Union, where he oversees marketing, facilities, and Hispanic initiatives
Passionate about supporting the community, Billy joined the Chamber’s Ambassadors Committee to welcome others and foster a strong sense of belonging For Billy, being an ambassador is all about building genuine connections and helping others succeed
He finds fulfillment in promoting local businesses and linking people with resources. His work as an ambassador supports the Chamber’s “Three C’s”: Catalyst, Convenor, and Champion Acting as a Catalyst, Billy sparks positive change by supporting local events and initiatives
As a Convener, he connects people and resources, addressing the unique needs of individuals and businesses within Mason County As a Champion, he celebrates the achievements of others, helping them reach their milestones His approach strengthens community bonds and creates a vibrant network
Billy sees Chamber membership as a “neighborhood” of cooperative success, where members support each other through shared resources He emphasizes that effective ambassadorship is rooted in listening and offering help big or small Whether it’s guiding a new member through the Chamber’s member portal or making a key introduction, Billy understands that small gestures build lasting connections
Outside of his ambassador role, Billy actively serves on the Chamber’s Member Services Committee, contributing to Chamber initiatives and events like the annual gala and expo Peninsula Credit Union is a top Chamber investor and regularly hosts the Chamber’s Business After Hours events in the summer months involvement highlights and his commitment to community
