Chamber Champions Small Business Season 2025

The Chamber is proud to once again lead the Shop Small movement, celebrating Small Business Season from November 1 through December 31. This annual campaign highlights the vital role small businesses play in our community and renews the Chamber’s commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs and business owners.
Small Business Season is about more than just shopping; it is about supporting the dreams and livelihoods of our neighbors, friends, and community members. Each purchase at a small business creates a ripple effect, contributing to local jobs, boosting the economy, and fostering connections that strengthen our community. When you choose to shop, dine, or do business locally, you are investing in more than a product or service; you are investing in people.
As part of Small Business Season, the Chamber also participates in Small Business Saturday, a nationwide initiative that encourages consumers to support local businesses during the holiday season. Since its inception in 2010, shoppers have spent more than $200 billion at small businesses on Small Business Saturday. The day has grown into a movement that helps small businesses reach new customers, connect with their communities, and share what makes them unique. This year, Small Business Saturday falls on November 29, 2025.
Studies show that about 67% of every dollar spent at small businesses stays within the community, creating a meaningful impact that benefits schools, nonprofits, and neighborhood initiatives. In 2024, shoppers nationwide spent an estimated $17 billion on Small Business Saturday alone, demonstrating the power of local spending. With many small business owners continuing to navigate economic challenges, this community support remains essential.
Chamber President & CEO Deidre Peterson encourages shoppers to make the most of this season:
“Our local businesses need your support. Every purchase strengthens our local economy and helps sustain the unique businesses we all know and love.”
Across the country, 88% of small business owners report a critical need for community support, and 55% expect Small Business Saturday to significantly boost their holiday sales. The message is clear: when you choose local, every purchase has a purpose.
The Chamber invites everyone to take part in Small Business Season by exploring local shops, restaurants, and service providers. Discover meaningful gifts and one-of-a-kind treasures, enjoy dining experiences close to home, and share your favorite finds on social media using #ShopSmall. Local business owners are also encouraged to join the celebration by decorating their storefronts, creating special promotions, and sharing their own stories of entrepreneurship throughout the season. Each act of participation, whether shopping or showcasing your business, helps small businesses thrive and keeps Mason County’s economy strong.
To find local retailers and service providers, explore the searchable Member Directory and follow the Chamber on Facebook for updates throughout the season. We can make this holiday season truly meaningful because every purchase has a purpose.
