Halloween Spooktacular

Once again this year, the Chamber is partnering with Shelton Downtown Merchants to present Halloween Spooktacular. After much consideration, outreach to past participants, and lengthy discussion with health and public officials, organizers decided to move the festivities (just this year) to Kneeland Park.

Trick-or-Treating
Event hours are 2:00-6:00p on Saturday, October 31.

What you need to know:
• This will be a ONE WAY event. Please enter and exit accordingly.
• Everyone must wear a mask (and not just a Halloween mask).
• Social distance requirements will be observed; please keep space between your party and those ahead and behind you.

Would your business or community group like to set up a table to hand out candy? Great! There will be options for 2:00-4:00p, 4:00-6:00p, or the entire time from 2:00-6:00p. To sign-up for a time or for additional details, contact Amy at (360) 710-4951.

Pumpkin Walk
There will also be a “Pumpkin Walk” this year. Enjoy carved and decorated pumpkins throughout your walk around the park. Vote for your favorite pumpkin while you’re there!

Would you like to participate by creating a pumpkin for the Pumpkin Walk? Awesome! Pumpkins can be dropped off at Kneeland Park between 11:00a and 1:30p on Saturday, October 31. Pumpkins also need to be picked up between 6:00p and 6:30p (should you want your back). For questions on the pumpkin contest, contact Serena at (360) 490-5283.

There will be a People’s Choice competition for the best pumpkin carving. (Details about voting TBA.)

Tips for Safe Celebrations

Typical Holiday Celebrations will need to change a bit this year to help keep everyone safe. No matter how you choose to celebrate, remember the basics: wear a mask and limit close contact when with others outside your household; limit common touch points; and wash or sanitize hands often.
