Ribbon Cutting Procedures During COVID-19

Published

Due to public safety guidelines and health concerns, Ribbon Cuttings will look slightly different. We have implemented additional precautions to ensure safety of those in attendance. Here is what you can expect:

  • The Ribbon Cutting must take place outside to allow adequate social distancing. If it rains, the Chamber will work with you to reschedule the Ribbon Cutting.
  • If you request for the Chamber to provide the ribbon and scissors, they will be sanitized prior to each use.
  • Pictures and a Facebook Live video will be taken at the time of the event and shared on the Chamber’s Facebook page. Pictures will be posted to social media and will be sent to the host following the event.
  • Chamber Staff will arrive approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled Ribbon Cutting.
Prior to arrival, the Chamber Staff will have had his/her temperature taken and will only attend if safe to do so (100.3 or below is considered safe).
  • It is the host’s responsibility to check temperatures of staff, family, friends, and those attending. Those with a temperature of 100.4 and above should be asked to return home.
  • Chamber Board of Directors and Ambassadors are invited to attend; temperatures will be taken by the Chamber staff upon arrival. Those with a temperature of 100.4 or above will be asked to leave.
  • It is strongly recommended that you and all your guests wear a face mask. Detractors are rampant; we want to ensure you can celebrate your achievements instead of defend your position.
  • No more than three representatives from your organization will be asked to join the Chamber’s Executive Director in cutting the ribbon. (One individual will be given the opportunity to provide a brief statement following the ribbon cutting.) All other employees, family members, and guests will be asked to stand behind the presenters. Two employees/representatives/partners of your choice may hold the ribbon, one at each end. If you prefer, we can enlist Chamber representatives to secure the ribbon ends.
  • Refreshments provided by you are optional. If you wish to provide food or beverage, we ask that they be individually packaged to limit the spread of germs.

We are excited to join you during this celebration! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Chamber at (360) 426-2021 or info@masonchamber.com.
