Embrace Hoodsport & Volunteer

Published by Rachel Crume on

Nestled in the heart of the stunning Olympic Peninsula, Hoodsport invites you to join its vibrant community and become a part of something special. At the forefront of welcoming visitors stands the Hoodsport Visitor Information Center, a hub of hospitality and adventure.

The heartbeat of Hoodsport’s tourism, the Chamber’s Visitor Information Center, thrives on the passion and dedication of volunteers. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, history buff, or simply love connecting with people, you can make a real difference. Join our team of volunteers and share your love for Mason County.

During the peak season, the visitor center is open Thursday-Monday, 9:00a-4:00p. The HVIC provides information and direct assistance to visitors requesting information about area events, parks, lodging, dining, retail and recreational services and opportunities available in Mason County. Volunteers also sell various maps, passes, and apparel.

Volunteers interact with visitors from all over the world. Volunteering is an incredible way to share your passions and knowledge of the Olympic Peninsula, the Olympic National Park, Forests, Hiking Trails and Hood Canal. Our volunteers say, “Volunteering gives us a sense of accomplishment, and community.” Many volunteers are outdoor enthusiasts, retired rangers, and local experts.

Whatever your motivation to volunteer is, we appreciate you and will give you the knowledge and opportunity to become successful and fulfilled. The time commitment may be just a few hours a week, or more if you wish.
