Businesses Invited to Host 20-Hour Student Internships
The Shelton School District’s Internship Program is returning this year, and local businesses are invited to take part. In its first year, the program connected Shelton High School students with more than 1,200 hours of hands-on career experience. This was possible thanks to support from businesses that opened their doors and gave students opportunities to explore career pathways right here in Mason County. Employers also benefited by meeting and mentoring the next generation of talent.
The program is expanding this year to reach even more students and create additional opportunities for business partners.
Schedule with Shelton High School
- Six internship sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Runs over three weeks, starting Tuesday, October 14
- 8:30 – 11:00a each day
- Repeats monthly throughout the school year
CHOICE and Cedar High Schools
- Internship opportunities added on Wednesdays
- Flexible scheduling options available to meet business needs
By participating, you will help students gain real-world skills while strengthening connections with Mason County’s future workforce. Many of last year’s interns are already moving toward careers influenced by the mentorship and opportunities they received through this program.
