Restaurant Revitalization Fund Registration Now Open

Published on

Registration for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) is now open at restaurants.sba.gov. If you are working with Square or Toast, you do not need to register. The online application portal will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted. Read the full press release.

The $28.6 Billion RFF is designed to help restaurants, caterers, wineries and distilleries, etc. keep their doors open. This program will provide funding equal to pandemic-related revenue loss and recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023. Details on application requirements, eligibility, and a program guide are now available in English at www.sba.gov/restaurants or in Spanish at www.sba.gov/restaurantes.

Learn more in the FAQ about eligibility, required documentation, prioritization, eligible expenses, how to calculate potential grant amounts and more. Review and download the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Revitalization FAQ here. Important things to note:

  • There is no requirement for an entity to have been open before a particular date.
  • Hotels may also be eligible if 33% of revenue is from onsite food and beverage sales.
  • Franchises will be eligible as long as they meet other eligibility requirements.

The SBA recommends qualifying applicants familiarize themselves with the application process, specifically by:

  • Reviewing the official guidance, including program guide, frequently asked questions, and sample application.
  • Preparing the required documentation.
  • Working with a point-of-sale vendor or visiting restaurants.sba.gov to submit an application when the application portal opens.
  • If you were unable to attend last week’s webinars which covered program details and a demonstration of the application portal, you can watch the recording here.

As SBA continues to update RFF information, the most current detail will be posted online at https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/loans/covid-19-relief-options/restaurant-revitalization-fund.
